It is a common misconception that FAFSA is used only to determine Pell Grant eligibility. It also allows for other financial aid opportunities that you may be eligible for now, or in the future. Completing the FAFSA now allows you access to community leaders/teachers who can help with the form. This type of assistance may not be available on a college campus later.
The Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship is awarded to students who are a resident of Cape Coral attending any secondary school or homeschool. Awards are not based on financial need or GPA alone, but the full spectrum of application questions. Leadership, community involvement and service are important factors too.
The Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship Fund has partnered with the Collaboratory for the application and preliminary screening process. They have volunteers with years of experience reviewing applications and that helps us find those who qualify. Finalists are forwarded to our CCMSF team for review and final selection. The Coviello Family is also involved in the selection of the Mayor Joe Coviello Memorial Scholarship award.
Applications are reviewed and final recipients selected in early April. You will receive notification from The Cape Coral Mayor’s Scholarship Fund as well as the Collaboratory. Be sure to include your current email and postal address.

The Award Celebration is also attended by sponsors, community leaders, and elected officials. You won’t want to miss it!
