Lena is currently enrolled as a full-time student in the second trimester of the practical nursing program at Cape Coral Technical College. 

She is a dedicated student, mother and wife. Lena is a mother to a 5-year-old, while her husband is in basic training for the Army. She works evenings after school to be able to afford her bills. This scholarship will help ease the financial burden she is facing and help allow her to focus more on school and her son. 

After she graduates, Lena plans on working in pediatric home health and long-term care nursing. She later plans on advancing in the field of healthcare to become an RN and ultimately a pediatric nurse practitioner. Lena is grateful for the support this scholarship provides along with her academic and professional journey as she strives to serve vulnerable populations with compassion and skill.
